Public Media Metadata Co-op

Using the EIDR Registry

Goal: To learn how to use the entertainment identification registry to obtain EIDR Identifiers for Public Media shows.

Attend Using the EIDR Registry and learn how to:

Become an EIDR member

A step-by-step onboarding plan comprised of instructional videos and job aides will guide you to full EIDR membership.

Prep show information for EIDR's metadata requirements

As metadata trickles into your organization for new releases, you will understand the minimum metadata requirements needed to register shows into the EIDR registry.

Obtain an EIDR ID for a Series, Season, Episode and One-Time-Only

EIDR Identifiers are collision proof - as a different ID is assigned to each series, season within a series, and each episode within a season.

Obtain an EIDR ID for Edits and Manifestations

For each version of a show EIDR provides an ID for the original length, shortened, extended, and censored versions. Additionally, EIDR provides an identifier for the technical rendering of a show - be it HD and SD.
